The WorldOfJah is a Rasta Community website totalling nearly 4000 members from 196 countries, of which 35% are from the US. Our website receives around 45 000 visitors and 300 000 pageviews per month, with an Alexa Ranks around the 500 000 mark. With an average monthly growth rate of 18.5% and a constant stream of new members and new contents, we are now thinking of turning this platform into a greater force for change, hence the WorldOfJah Foundation.
The role of the foundation will be to harness the power of the Rastafari collective to facilitate and promote actions that will benefit the wider Rastafari community. The structure of the foundation hasnt been determined yet, and we are oscillating between the non-profit, charity, NGO, or even social business models. As time goes, we should fine tune the Foundation, but as a start we would like to forward 50% of all donations directly to benefactors.
We will make use of this blog to share our vision, goals and objectives. Furthermore we will publish reports detailing how we spend the funds we raised.
We are looking forward for the future and hope you will join us too in making this world a better place. The big development agencies neednt call the shots: there is no greater army than one nation standing 1gether. The future is ours.
